DESCRIPTION
We’ve named our Large Montrouge Console after a French town that was first mentioned in monastery documents in 1194. It takes a history that sweeping to make age feel so authentic. To help this console table live up to its namesake, we’ve white washed the entire creation with legs that could have been taken from an antique balustrade. We’ve wrapped the feet in brass to add a touch of sophistication for which the Parisian suburbs are known. It’s as clever as it is classic with drawers fitted into the thin rib of wood that supports the top. We offer the Montrouge in a smaller console and in a round table.

Our new, Solid Wood Top, case goods collection is designed to replicate the gaps and cracks found in real antiques. The samples shown, all with splits in them, have had paste wax applied which helps maintain the internal moisture content of the wood and fill the uneven gaps you see between the wood. We designed the pieces to replicate the look of antiques with the gaps and for wax to be used bi-annually to maintain them. It is a very specific look, so if that is not a look you favor, we would suggest a more faux wood type furniture found at your large box type stores.
